Licensing

How can I determine what license method TimingDesigner is using?
TimingDesigner® uses one of two licensing methods:

  • A node-locked method restricting use to one machine (PC only)
  • A floating method allowing use of one or more license seats

To determine what license method you are using, start TimingDesigner and select Help > License Info.... The resulting License Information dialog box includes information that will identify the license you are using.

Briefly, the information includes:

General Information – Contains information regarding licensing, including product name and version, the license status, and most importantly, the licensing method used. If the licensing method indicates License Manager, the details will be listed in the License Manager Information section. If the license method indicates Authorization Key, the Authorization Key Information section will list the details of the hardware key that is found.

License Manager Information (if used) – Contains the specific information associated with the License Manager employed, such as the license file location and name, associated environment variable settings, and other license details.

Authorization Key Information (if used) – Contains the specific details associated with the Authorization Key. This could be either a Rainbow Sentinel hardware key employed on the parallel port or the newer FLEXid hardware key on either the parallel port or a USB port.

For more information on licensing methods, see the TimingDesigner User's Guide.
